Multi-currency and Arabic

# Multi-currency ERP software with Arabic-ready data and documents

Trade in any currency, round KWD and OMR correctly, post FX differences automatically, and keep Arabic names, addresses and quotations exactly right.

## In short

1flux is multi-currency ERP software for B2B companies that trade across borders. Every sales, payment and purchase document can be in its own currency, three-decimal currencies round correctly and realised exchange gains and losses post to the ledger automatically. Arabic company, contact, supplier and item names display correctly, item search understands Arabic spelling and quotation PDFs print Arabic correctly. Country packs for the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India set up tax codes and registration fields.

One register, many currencies: KWD and OMR to three decimals, and Arabic names that read right to left.

The problem

## Where do currencies and Arabic go wrong?

Businesses that trade across borders work in more than one currency every day, and often in more than one script. Generic software shows it.

- “Our Kuwaiti customer's invoice was rounded to two decimals.”

- “We work out FX differences in Excel at month-end.”

- “Our quotation PDF turns the customer's Arabic name into disconnected letters.”

- “Search for an item in Arabic and it finds nothing, because someone typed a different form of alef.”

- “Excel opens our export and the Arabic is question marks.”

1flux handles these as part of the product, not as add-ons.

01 Multi-currency

Any currency

## How does 1flux work as multi-currency ERP software?

1flux records the currency on each document, not just on the company. Each [legal entity](https://1flux.ai/glossary/legal-entity) keeps its own base ([functional](https://1flux.ai/glossary/functional-currency)) currency, for example AED for a Dubai company and SAR for a Riyadh one. Customers and suppliers carry their own currency, and documents can differ from the entity’s, so you can sell to customers anywhere, in any currency.

| Document | How 1flux handles the currency |
| -------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Quotations | One currency each, taken from the customer, the deal or the issuing company |
| Sales orders, sales invoices and customer payments | Any currency. Invoices store the exchange rate used |
| Purchase orders and purchase invoices | The supplier’s currency |
| Journal lines | Both the transaction amount and currency, and the base-currency amount |

Every document carries its own currency; the books stay in each company's base currency.

### No currency is ever assumed

1flux never hard-codes a currency. If a company has no base currency set, its overview asks you to set one rather than showing amounts in an assumed currency. Overview totals are shown in the company’s base currency, and any orders in other currencies left out of a total are named.

Rounding

## Three-decimal currencies, rounded correctly

1flux rounds each currency to its own decimal places. Kuwaiti dinar (KWD), Bahraini dinar (BHD) and Omani rial (OMR), along with JOD, IQD, LYD and TND, use three decimals.

Amounts are held in whole minor units, so partial invoices always add back up to the order total.

One KWD order line, invoiced in three parts

Example

- Order line: 3 units, net after discount

  KWD 1,250.000

- First delivery invoiced

  KWD 416.667

- Second delivery invoiced

  KWD 416.667

- Last invoice takes the remainder

  KWD 416.666

Invoiced in total

KWD 1,250.000

Illustrative numbers. Net amounts are prorated by quantity, and the invoice that finishes the line takes the rounding remainder.

Realised FX

## Realised FX gain or loss, posted for you

1flux posts realised [FX gains and losses](https://1flux.ai/glossary/fx-gain-and-loss) automatically, in the same step as the document.

- **Customer payments:** the receivable is cleared at the rate it was booked, and the difference posts to FX gain or loss.
- **Purchase invoices:** a rate difference against the goods receipt posts to FX gain or loss.

**Illustrative example:** a Saudi company with SAR as its base currency invoices a customer EUR 20,000 at 4.10, booking a receivable of SAR 82,000. The customer pays when the rate is 4.12. The bank receives SAR 82,400, the receivable clears at SAR 82,000 and 1flux posts an FX gain of SAR 400.

Illustrative example: a EUR invoice in a SAR company. The payment clears the receivable at the booked rate, and the FX gain posts.

View as text

1. Sadaf Trading Company, whose books are in SAR, invoices Lindenhof Bau GmbH EUR 20,000.00 at an exchange rate of 4.10. The receivable is booked at SAR 82,000.00.
2. The customer pays EUR 20,000.00 when the rate is 4.12, so the bank receives SAR 82,400.00.
3. 1flux clears the receivable at the booked SAR 82,000.00 and posts the SAR 400.00 difference as a realised FX gain. The invoice reads Paid.

Exchange rates

## Exchange rates you control

1flux uses dated exchange rates that your finance team enters.

- **Daily rates:** source currency, target currency, effective date and a rate of up to 8 decimals.
- **Lookup:** each document uses the latest rate on or before its date.
- **No guessing:** a missing rate blocks posting with an instruction to add it.
- **Group view:** [consolidation](https://1flux.ai/products/accounting/consolidation) translates each entity into one group currency, with income and expenses at the month’s average rate, balances at the closing rate and a visible [translation difference](https://1flux.ai/glossary/currency-translation-difference).

Daily rates entered by your finance team. Each document uses the latest rate on or before its date.

Country packs

## Country packs for the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India

1flux sets up each legal entity from a country pack covering currency, time zone, tax codes, legal forms, regions and registration fields. Legal entities can be registered in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India, and each one can sell to customers and buy from suppliers anywhere, in any currency.

| Country | Currency and time zone | Tax codes seeded | Registration fields |
| -------------------- | ---------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| United Arab Emirates | AED, Asia/Dubai | [VAT](https://1flux.ai/glossary/vat) 5% input and output, zero-rated | Trade licence, licensing authority or free zone, VAT TRN, corporate tax TRN |
| Saudi Arabia | SAR, Asia/Riyadh | VAT 15% input and output, zero-rated | Commercial registration (CR), unified number, VAT and group VAT, zakat certificate |
| India | INR, Asia/Kolkata | GST 0, 5, 12, 18 and 28% | GSTIN, PAN, CIN and others |

Each pack also seeds regions, such as the 7 emirates and the Saudi regions.

Tax rates are dated, so a rate change applies from its effective date. For the UAE and Saudi Arabia, 1flux prepares VAT returns from the input and output VAT already posted, and [ZATCA and UAE e-invoicing](https://1flux.ai/products/e-invoicing) are built in. 02 Arabic-ready data and documents

Arabic-ready data

## Arabic names, addresses and items, stored and shown correctly

1flux stores Arabic text as data and shows it correctly throughout. Arabic names are isolated so they read right to left without flipping the rest of the row.

- **Customers and suppliers:** Arabic company, contact and supplier names display correctly throughout, with an Arabic font.
- **Your companies:** each legal entity holds an Arabic legal name and Arabic address. See [multi-entity in 1flux](https://1flux.ai/platform/multi-entity).
- **Items:** names and descriptions in up to 7 languages (English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Hindi and Urdu), with right-to-left typing for Arabic and Urdu and an Arabic name column in the register. See the [item master](https://1flux.ai/products/inventory/item-master).
- **Accounts:** chart-of-accounts names can carry Arabic, set through the chart import.

### Search that understands Arabic spelling

1flux normalises Arabic before it searches items, so different spellings of the same word find the same item. A search for أسمنت also finds اسمنت.

- Diacritics and tatweel are ignored.
- Alef, ta marbuta and ya variants are treated as one.
- Eastern Arabic digits (٠١٢٣) match Western digits (0123).

### Arabic-safe CSV exports

1flux writes CSV exports with the encoding marker Excel needs, so Arabic opens correctly. That covers ledgers, the chart of accounts, receivables, customer statements, stock movements, valuation, the purchase order report and more. Companies, contacts and items also export to Excel.

An Arabic search finds every spelling of the same word. Arabic names sit beside English ones.

National Address

## Saudi National Address, structured and validated

1flux stores the [Saudi National Address](https://1flux.ai/glossary/saudi-national-address) as structured fields, not a free-text line: short address, building number, street, secondary number, district, unit, postal code and city, with Arabic twin fields for street, district and city.

- **Validation:** 4-digit building and secondary numbers, a 5-digit postal code and a short address such as `REMA6598`.
- **Paste national address:** paste the address as one line and 1flux fills in the fields it recognises, such as building number, postal code and district.
- **Where it’s used:** customer and supplier records, your Saudi companies and sales order delivery addresses. Quotations print the buyer’s and the seller’s national address.

Paste the address as one line, and 1flux fills the structured fields, with Arabic twins.

Quotation PDFs

## Arabic/English quotations that print correctly

1flux shapes and orders Arabic text correctly in quotation PDFs, with an embedded Arabic font. Letters join, marks sit correctly and mixed Arabic and English lines keep their reading order. Text stays selectable.

In Document Studio, the [quotation template designer](https://1flux.ai/platform/document-designer), you design Arabic/English layouts by placing Arabic and English side by side, for example an Arabic title next to “QUOTATION”, in the Arabic wording you choose.

An Arabic title beside QUOTATION and an Arabic customer name, shaped and ordered correctly.

FAQ

## Questions, answered

Still deciding? [Talk to sales](https://1flux.ai/contact)

### Can I quote and invoice in US dollars?

Yes. A quotation has one currency, taken from the customer, the deal or the issuing company, so a quote can go out in USD. Sales orders, invoices and payments can also be in USD. Invoices store the exchange rate used, and payments post any realised FX difference against your company's base currency, in the same step as the payment.

### Can 1flux handle KWD, BHD and OMR?

Yes.

### How does 1flux use exchange rates?

1flux uses dated exchange rates that your finance team enters, with up to 8 decimals, and each document uses the latest rate on or before its date. If a rate is missing, posting stops with a clear instruction to add it, so 1flux never guesses. Consolidation uses the same rates for its month-end and average translation.

### Does 1flux support Arabic?

Yes. 1flux handles Arabic data throughout. Arabic company, contact, supplier and item names display correctly, item search understands Arabic spelling variants and Eastern Arabic digits, and Saudi National Addresses have Arabic twin fields. Quotation PDFs shape and order Arabic correctly with an embedded Arabic font, and you can design Arabic and English quotation layouts side by side in Document Studio.

### Do Arabic names survive an export to Excel?

Yes. 1flux writes CSV exports with the encoding marker Excel needs, so Arabic opens correctly instead of turning into question marks. That covers ledgers, the chart of accounts, receivables, customer statements, stock movements, valuation and the purchase order report. Companies, contacts and items also export straight to Excel.

### Which countries can my companies be set up in?

1flux sets up legal entities in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and India. Each has a country pack with its currency, time zone, VAT or GST codes, legal forms, regions and registration fields, seeded when you create the entity. Your customers and suppliers can be anywhere, and you can sell to them and buy from them in any currency.

### Does 1flux handle ZATCA e-invoicing?

Yes. 1flux issues ZATCA-compliant e-invoices for Saudi Arabia, covering Phase 1 (generation) and Phase 2 (integration with ZATCA's Fatoora platform), and supports UAE e-invoicing under the Federal Tax Authority's programme, ready for the 2027 go-live dates. It also seeds UAE and Saudi VAT codes and applies them per line at dated rates. See [e-invoicing for Saudi Arabia and the UAE](https://1flux.ai/products/e-invoicing).
